Web Designer

BURKE is currently looking for a Web Designer to join our team full-time at our office in Charlotte, NC. The right individual must be able to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate good multi-tasking and organizational skills. The candidate must have a passion for solving problems and the ability to write clean and efficient code.


Responsibilities

• Managing a multitude of diverse website updates and feature requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
• Collaborating with project managers, account executives, and clients by asking questions, discovering core business needs, and communicating progress updates while implementing complete solutions 
• Committing to not just fulfilling a task, but adding value, challenging the status quo, and leaving sites better than you find them 
• Performing cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure sites function equally across modern platforms 
• Writing clean, semantic, and easily maintainable code based on industry best-practices 
• Designing and implementing new features and functionality for clients’ sites across a variety of CMS environments (Joomla, WordPress, custom) 


Skills & Requirements

• Competent with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 
• Experience with PHP and MySQL 
• 2-3 years of experience building and maintaining CMS based sites (WordPress experience is strongly desired) 
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites 
• Comfortable working with Photoshop and Illustrator 
• Creative and graphic design skills a plus

Web Design Internship – SPRING 2019

BURKE is looking for a motivated Web Design Intern to assist on a wide range of web projects.


Responsibilities

The right candidate will have the opportunity to work with our teams in designing, building and maintaining client websites. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience and build your resume and portfolio. Essential functions include:

  • Create design elements, comps, templates and finished solutions.
  • Conduct website testing and optimization.
  • Provide design maintenance of websites.
  • Participate in efforts to improve quality of websites and web applications.


Skills & Requirements

Full-time or Part-time. Flexible hours (15-20+ hours/week).

Minimum Skill Set:
HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Account Executive

Responsibilities

    The Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day management of various projects from planning, execution and final delivery. This position reports to the Director of Account Services.
     

  • Building and maintaining client relationships, confidently interacting with all levels of leadership.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable, reliable point of contact, including expertise of tools and knowledge of various stakeholders to gather necessary assets or information.
  • Writing strategic creative briefs to ensure projects meet defined targets and goals.
  • Facilitate meetings, manage agendas, and capture clear notes with action items to share with appropriate stakeholders and team members.
  • Seamlessly manage multiple projects of various scopes with differing and converging timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially via email, that provide clear direction and enable collaboration between internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, proactively share ideas, and develop effective, tactful responses or elevate to higher management.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a positive demeanor and supportive team mindset.

 


Skills & Requirements

  • **A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Advertising/Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Marketing or Account Manager, agency experience required.
  • xperience developing and implementing new strategies and programs that successfully achieve business objectives.
  • Organized and skilled in project management. Must balance high-priority, long-term projects with short-term, immediate deadlines.
  • Adept at managing projects and deadlines with industry software such as Asana.
  • Proven ability to effectively leverage marketing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fast, creative thinker/problem solver.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to network and create strong interpersonal connections with key industry players is a definite plus.

Account Coordinator Intern

We are looking for a go-getter for an Account Coordinator intern position. If you have a strong interest in working in advertising and gaining project management experience, then this is the internship for you!


Responsibilities

In this role, you will work directly with the CEO of the Agency as well as assist the Account Service team and the Content Marketing Specialist as needed on various client accounts. Duties include but are not limited to research, client meetings, social media & marketing planning and helping with various client projects – doing whatever it takes to get the job done.


Skills & Requirements

  • Current college student (or recent graduate) majoring in PR, Marketing, English, Communications or related field
  • Ability to commit to a full time internship (for at least 3 months; hours can be discussed)
  • Strong grasp of the Advertising/Marketing and New Business industries and solid understanding of key social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Impeccable writing and research skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good listener/ability to take detailed notes
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, including trade journals, blogs, relevant websites, research reports and white papers
  • Keeping up with relevant and new advertising trends
  • Ability to multi-task and think quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely detail oriented and exceptionally organized
  • Positive attitude, great sense of humor and eager to learn
